1. Overview of Amazon Alexa
Amazon Alexa is a cloud-based AI voice assistant offering a range of functionalities, including:
- Voice Interaction: Enables natural language processing for human-AI communication.
- Smart Home Control: Supports management and operation of various smart home devices.
- Multimedia Playback: Plays music, radio, and other multimedia content.
Currently, Alexa supports the following features with compatible cameras:
- View live camera feed
- Two-way audio communication
- Other functionalities may not be supported at this time.
2. Device Compatibility
Firmware Requirements:
- To check your camera’s firmware version, follow this path: Settings > Device Info > Firmware Version.
- If your firmware is below version 37.1.48, please update it to 37.1.48 or higher.
App Requirements:
- Alexa App: Ensure that you have the latest version of the Alexa app. As of December 12, 2024, the latest version is v2.2.635412.0.
- Yoosee App: Ensure that you have the latest version of the Yoosee app, version 6.29 or higher.
3. Setup Instructions
- Please note that Alexa currently supports regions outside of Mainland China, and you must be connected to a non-Chinese mainland network.
- Ensure you have an Alexa-enabled smart device, such as an Echo, that is connected to the internet.
- Make sure your mobile device has both the Alexa App and the Yoosee App installed and is functioning correctly.
4. Connection Guide
Step 1: Add Camera via Yoosee App
If you haven’t connected your camera yet, follow these steps:
- Open the Yoosee App and log in (if you don’t have an account, register first).
- Power on the camera and press and hold the reset button for more than 5 seconds until you hear a beep, indicating the camera is in pairing mode.
- In the Yoosee App, tap the “+” icon in the top-right corner and follow the on-screen instructions to add the camera.
Step 2: Link Yoosee Account to Alexa
- Open the Alexa App and log in (or create a new account).
- Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the bottom navigation bar and select Skills & Games.
- In the search bar, type “Yoosee” and select it when it appears, then tap ENABLE TO USE.
- Log in with your Yoosee account and complete the authorization process.
Step 3: Start Monitoring via Alexa Device
- Ensure your Alexa device is connected to the internet and logged into your Alexa account (refer to the Alexa device’s manual for setup details).
- On your Alexa device, swipe down from the status bar and open the Smart Home menu.
- Search for the camera you added earlier and select it to complete the setup.
After completing the setup, you can start using Alexa to monitor your camera’s live feed and use two-way audio communication.
